Our mission is simple. We're here to provide financial products that are in our customers' best interest, not ours. It is and always has been the very foundation of our existence. More importantly, as the only bank headquartered right here in our community, we know that we are in business because of our community and for our community. This is our only home – and we know that we cannot thrive or survive without a strong local economy.
Our employees are important to us. Carrying out our mission starts and ends with our employees. Perhaps that’s why we were named one of New Hampshire’s Best Companies to Work For in 2016. Why is this so important? Because we know that if we treat our staff extremely well, with the utmost respect, the result will be happy employees—and ultimately, happy customers. It’s not only the right thing to do, it’s a business strategy that creates a strong and everlasting community institution.
Our community is important to us. Everywhere you turn, SBW employees (and members of our civic-minded Board of Trustees) are volunteering their time on behalf of local non-profit organizations. Our people contribute approximately 120 hours per month (or 1,440 hours each year) to over two dozen local organizations.
On a personal level, I am exceedingly proud of our bank and the good work we do in our community. We spend countless hours advising and assisting our customers and SBW employees strive to do the right thing for our customers and our community every single day. There is no greater satisfaction than helping a local businessperson finance his or her dream, or a young couple buy their first home.
